about

(Previously Unreleased)

62 Miles From Space is a two-piece virtual music project founded in Moscow in 2014, consisting of Neil Davidson (samples, programming) and Roman Kutnov (guitar, vocals). Formed after hearing each other's work on the internet, the fact that they live in the same city is purely a coincidence. Their music lives entirely on the internet. They have never jammed or played live and the collaboration is centered around e-mail and file-sharing.
Having no geographical location, the music is not part of any scene or narrative. The music is certainly inspired by the music of the 60s and 70s, whether it was made last week, or 50 years ago isn't important. In an age where we can listen to practically any track in recorded history, instantly, at the push of a button, in any order and context, we visit the past and future only as virtual tourists. Originally working largely with samples and sequencers, “Time Shifts” is the band's first adventure with vocals, synthesizers and electric guitars.
